Death toll from US airstrikes on Yemen rises to 23 — TV

Among the dead are four children and one woman

DUBAI, March 16. /TASS/. The death toll from US airstrikes on Yemen has risen to 23, with at least 13 people injured, the Al Masirah TV channel, which is controlled by the Houthi rebels from the Ansar Allah movement, reported.

According to the channel’s information, the death toll from the strike on the Yemeni city of Saada has risen from six to 10, while 13 people were killed as a result of strikes on the Yemeni capital, Sanaa. Among the dead are four children and one woman.

On Saturday evening, the Al Masirah TV channel reported that Houthi-controlled Sanaa had been hit by airstrikes. Later, US President Donald Trump said that he had given the order to begin military action against the Ansar Allah movement. According to Al Hadath TV channel, the headquarters of the Houthi Supreme Political Council, weapons depots and rebel command centers were shelled in Sanaa. The US also struck Yemeni rebel targets in the governorates of Saada, Dhamar and Al-Bayda.
