CAIRO, January 4. /TASS/. One of the commanders of the pro-Iran Shi’ite group Hezbollah al-Nujaba and his associate were killed in a drone attack in Iraq’s capital, the Shafaq News online newspaper reported citing a security source.
According to the source, the deceased was known as Abu Taqwa, who was commander of the group’s 12th brigade and a supporter of the Iraqi Shi’ite militia Al Hashd al-Shaabi. At least six more people were injured in the drone strike.
Hezbollah al-Nujaba confirmed their commander’s death and pinned the blame on the United States. The drone attack, according to the website’s sources, targeted the Baghdad-based headquarters of the logistics forces.
Earlier, Shafaq News reported that one person was killed and four more were injured in a drone attack on the headquarters of an al-Hashd al-Shaabi unit.
