KIEV, February 20. /TASS/. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said he had discussed the issue of long-range weapons with his American counterpart Joe Biden, Reuters reported.

On Monday, Zelensky posted on his Telegram channel a photo with Biden, who had arrived in Kiev, calling the visit an important signal of support for all Ukrainians.

Biden said at a meeting in Kiev with Zelensky that the US intended to provide Ukraine with a new $500 million military aid package. According to the American leader, Washington will supply Kiev with shells for the HIMARS system.

Reuters earlier reported that the US had agreed to send Ukraine GLSDB precision-guided missiles capable of hitting targets up to 150 km away, but rejected requests for ATACMS missiles with a range of up to 300 km. On February 3, the US Department of Defense announced another package of military assistance to Ukraine totaling $2.175 billion, which included GLSDBs.
