Uganda thankful for Russia’s support in strengthening security, envoy says

Ambassador of the country to the Russian Federation Moses Kizige also expressed gratitude to Moscow for helping Kampala in the field of education

MOSCOW, October 14. /TASS/. Uganda is grateful to Russia for its assistance in the defense and security sphere, the country’s Ambassador to Moscow Moses Kizige said on Thursday, addressing a reception dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Uganda’s independence and the establishment of diplomatic relations with Russia.

He also expressed gratitude for Russia’s support in the educational realm, pointing out that many Ugandan students had received scholarships.

According to Kizige, Kampala and Moscow maintain good relations. The envoy emphasized that Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s visit to Uganda in July had made it possible for the parties to discuss a lot of important issues. He was also hopeful that the two countries would continue to boost ties.
