Interior Ministry classifies explosion in Berdyansk on Sunday as terrorist attack

It was earlier reported there was a blast at an electric substation

MELITOPOL, June 12. /TASS/. The explosion that rocked the city of Berdyansk in the Zaporozhye Region on Sunday morning was a terrorist attack, Alexey Selivanov, deputy head of the local Interior Ministry department, told TASS.

"It’s a terrorist attack. There was a terrorist attack on an electric distribution station," he said.

It was earlier reported there was a blast at an electric substation. The authorities said it was a result of a short circuit and fire. A subsequent investigation found it was a terrorist attack, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporozhye Region military civilian administration said. He said traces of explosives and flammable materials were found on the scene.
