BERLIN, May 11. /TASS/. The training of Ukrainian soldiers in the use of PzH 2000 howitzers began in Germany on Wednesday, Germany’s Ministry of Defense reported on Twitter.
"The training started today," the statement said. "This does not make neither Germany, nor NATO a party to the war," it added.
As reported earlier, Germany wanted to supply seven PzH 2000 howitzers to Ukraine.
At the end of April, German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht said that Germany was also ready to supply Ukraine with Gepard air defense systems.
Earlier, DPA, citing its sources, reported that the German government was preparing to send Soviet T-72 tanks to Ukraine via Slovenia using the principle of a so-called circular exchange. Slovenia is to hand over to Kiev tanks from its own reserves, while Germany pledged to replace them with Marder and Fuchs armored vehicles.
