LONDON, June 13. /TASS/. Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II greeted American President Joe Biden and his spouse Jill Biden at Windsor Castle on Sunday. The US leader arrived from Heathrow following the G7 summit in the seaside resort of Carbis Bay in Cornwall, UK. The meeting was aired live by the Sky News TV channel.

The US president and the first lady together with the Queen observed the arrival ceremony reviewing the Guard of Honor and hearing the two countries’ national anthems, followed by a traditional tea. The meeting lasted almost forty minutes while it was scheduled for half an hour. After the visit, the US president returned to London.

As the White House announced earlier, Biden’s European tour will continue on June 14 in Brussels with the NATO meeting, followed by the US-EU summit. The culmination of his visit will be the summit with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Switzerland.
