MOSCOW, November 23. /TASS/. Moscow has started preparing synthetic ice skating rinks for operation. Overall, 191 rinks will be covered with synthetic ice, said Moscow Deputy Mayor for Housing and Utilities Infrastructure and Gentrification Pyotr Biryukov on Thursday.
"Ice will be frozen at special refrigeration units for a period of five days. The weather conditions in the city provided us the possibility to engage in this work," Biryukov said.
He specified that all synthetic ice skating rinks in Moscow will have the necessary infrastructure: light, rental centers, changing rooms, medical centers, spots to eat and toilets.
"The winter recreation industry also includes 1,283 conventional ice rinks with real ice where Moscow residents of all ages will be able to easily enjoy themselves or practice sports if the weather is favorable. They also have all the necessary infrastructure," Biryukov added.
