MOSCOW, August 11. /TASS/. Since the beginning of 2026, special services and law enforcement agencies have prevented 66 acts of sabotage and terrorism at transportation and fuel and energy facilities, and 150 individuals involved in their preparation have been detained, Alexander Bortnikov, the Chairman of the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) and Director of Russia’s federal security service FSB, said at a meeting of the NAC.
"A total of 66 bombings and arson attacks at transportation and energy facilities have been prevented, and 150 individuals involved in their preparation and execution have been detained," he said.
According to the NAC information center, 49 acts of sabotage and terrorism have been prevented at transportation facilities, and 17 at fuel and energy facilities.
The NAC noted that the enemy is increasing the activity of terrorist attacks, often managing to penetrate infrastructure defenses and strike them not only near the combat zone but also at significant distances. At the NAC meeting, priority tasks were identified to improve the effectiveness of protecting transportation and fuel and energy facilities in a dynamically changing operational environment.
