Climber dressed as Father Frost for children’s party falls to death from Urals high-rise

A probe is underway, the law enforcement agency added, saying that it would scrutinize the actions of the organizers of the children’s party

CHELYABINSK, December 22. /TASS/. An industrial climber dressed as Ded Moroz ("Father Frost"), the Russian Santa Claus, lost his grip and fell to his death from the 24th story of the high-rise residential building where he had been hired to entertain a children’s New Year’s party in the Urals region city of Chelyabinsk, the regional prosecutor’s office told TASS.

"On the evening of December 21, the lifeless body of a man who fell from a common balcony on the 24th floor was found in the courtyard of a residential building at 7 Lesoparkovaya Street in Chelyabinsk," the prosecutor’s office said. A probe is underway, the law enforcement agency added, saying that it would scrutinize the actions of the organizers of the children’s party.

The man’s fall resulted from a breach of safety regulations, the prosecutor’s office also said, citing preliminary data.
