MOSCOW, January 26. /TASS/. The office of Russia’s Prosecutor General made a decision to recognize the activity of the foreign NGO Medusa Project (the owner of the Medusa web news outlet - TASS) which earlier had been recognized as a foreign agent by the Russian Ministry of Justice as unwelcome in Russia, the press service of the agency told TASS.
"After reviewing obtained materials, the office of the Russian Prosecutor General made a decision to recognize the foreign non-government organization Limited Liability Company (SIA) Medusa Project, the Republic of Latvia, as undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation," the press service said.
"It has been established that its activity represents a threat to the foundations of the constitutional order and security of the Russian Federation," the office of the Prosecutor General said.
Information on the decision was sent to the Ministry of Justice to be included in the list of foreign and international NGOs whose activity was recognized as undesirable in the Russian Federation, the agency added.
In April 2021, the Russian Ministry of Justice added the Medusa Project to the registry of foreign media outlets with the functions of a foreign agent.
