MOSCOW, October 26. /TASS/. Russian TV host Ksenia Sobchak, daughter of former St. Petersburg Mayor Anatoly Sobchak and Federation Council member Lyudmila Narusova, has become a suspect in an extortion case from the Rostec state corporation, which could carry a sentence of up to 15 years in prison, a source in the law enforcement told TASS.
"Sobchak is being suspected under Article 163 part 3 point ‘b’ of the Russian Criminal Code (extortion aimed to obtain property on a particularly large scale.) The defendant is a Rostec official," the source said.
TASS requested a comment from Sobchak, but she declined to make a statement.
Earlier, a law enforcement source told TASS that Sobchak’s commercial director Kirill Sukhanov and former Tatler editor-in-chief Arian Romanovsky (Kuzmin) were detained as part of the case. Sobchak left Russia; her house was searched Wednesday morning. A court will review a request for the arrest of Sukhanov and Romanovsky.
