MOSCOW, May 9. /TASS/. More than 1 mln people are participating in the Immortal Regiment march in Moscow, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk said on Monday.
"More than a million residents and guests of the capital are marching with portraits of their relatives as part of the ongoing Immortal Regiment march," she said.
The Immortal Regiment march is held in Russia, CIS, and other countries to commemorate those who fought and died during the Great Patriotic War. Each year, participants in the Immortal Regiment march hold a procession on May 9 or close dates, carrying photographs of their relatives - war veterans. The Immortal Regiment march was held in the online format in Russia in 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
