Russian chief sanitary medic calls to consolidate positions on Bio-Weapons Convention

Earlier, Anna Popova stated that this pandemic is the first to happen in this century, but certainly not the last one

MOSCOW, June 24. /TASS/. Countries of the world must consolidate their position regarding the Biological Weapons Convention in order to prevent the worst scenario of development of the existing biological threats, Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) head Anna Popova said in an interview Thursday.

"We must consolidate our positions in order to prevent the worst scenario with biological risks, biological threats. […] We would like to achieve the positions of development, the consolidation of positive position in regards to the development of the [Biological Weapons] Convention," she said.

According to the chief sanitary medic, the implementation of biological risks is currently obvious.

"It all [the coronavirus pandemic] began in one country, and today it [involves] all countries of the world. All countries are involved in the pandemic," Popova said.
