MOSCOW, February 18. /TASS/. Moscow will launch clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine among teenagers aged 14 to 18, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on his blog on Thursday.
"It is important to protect not only adults, but children as well against the coronavirus. For this purpose, three stages of clinical trials of the Sputnik V vaccine for children aged 14 to 18 will be held at the Children's City Clinical Hospital named after Z. A. Bashlyaeva," he said.
According to the mayor, on the outcomes of clinical trials, the government will decide whether children can be included in the mass vaccination program.
Moscow launched COVID-19 vaccination on December 5, 2020. Citizens can sign up for vaccination at local clinics online. The Moscow government plans to vaccinate about 6-7 mln people. Some benefits may be offered to those vaccinated.
Currently, there are 100 vaccination sites at Moscow city clinics, and a number of private clinics have launched vaccination as well. The Moscow government constantly expands the groups of citizens eligible for vaccination.
