Russia delivers over 5,000 tonnes of medicines to DPR, LPR in eight years — minister

BELGOROD, May 21. /TASS/. Russia has delivered a total of over 5,000 tonnes of medicines to the Donbass republics over the past eight years, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko told reporters on Saturday during his work trip to Belgorod.

"We have already supplied the LPR and DPR (the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics - TASS) with a total of more than 5,000 tonnes of medicines," he said adding he was speaking about the past eight years.

In addition, Murashko said over 200,000 people were provided with medical treatment.

"Our professionals carry out telemedicine consultations. We take critical patients and kids in need of high-tech treatment as well. This interaction, this humanitarian mission is our priority every day," he said.

Russia has also allocated funds to provide medicines and necessary assistance to those arriving in Russia from Donbass.

"Russia has allocated additional funds for both medicines and emergency aid. Planned medical treatment and emergency medical help should be provided to everyone," Murashko concluded.
