Yabloko not to be removed from ballot until its appeal is considered

Yabloko will be able to appeal the Supreme Court’s decision within five days

MOSCOW, August 10. /TASS/. Russia’s Central Election Commission (CEC) will not revise the previously aproved federal ballot following the Russian Supreme Court’s decision to disqualify the Yabloko party from parliamentary elections until the court considers the party’s potential appeal, CEC Deputy Chairman Nikolay Bulayev told TASS.

"No actions will be taken with regard to the ballot until the court considers an appeal and its final ruling comes into force," he said when asked about the commission’s further steps.

Under the Russian Code of Administrative Procedure, an appeal against a court decision in a case concerning the protection of electoral rights may be filed within five days from the date the court ruling was issued. Thus, Yabloko will be able to appeal the Supreme Court’s decision within five days. According to the party’s press office, the party will challenge this ruling.
