KURSK, 14 March. /TASS/. The Ukrainian Armed Forces have completely or partially destroyed 48 cultural heritage sites in the border areas of the Kursk region, the regional authorities have asked the Main Military Investigation Directorate to investigate the crimes, acting governor of the region Alexander Khinshtein said on his Telegram channel.
"The White Book, which we are forming today, already lists 48 destroyed or damaged cultural heritage sites in the border region, including many Orthodox churches, which the Nazis deliberately desecrate. All this is also a reason to initiate criminal proceedings. We will send the relevant statements to the Main Military Investigation Directorate," he said.
"Not a single war criminal - from a private to a general - who committed atrocities on the Kursk land should escape deserved punishment. The regional government, in close cooperation with the military investigative bodies, is ready to do everything possible to do it," Khinshtein added.
In January, the region began compiling the "White Book of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Kursk Region" - a register of historical buildings that suffered from the criminal actions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
