Xi highlights mutually advantageous cooperation between China, Russia

"You have spent years doing a major fruitful work of promoting the Russia-China relationship and versatile bilateral cooperation," Xi Jinping said, addressing Sergey Lavrov

BEIJING, April 9. /TASS/. Russia and China have embraced peaceful co-existence and mutually beneficial cooperation which played a constructive role in ensuring international justice, Chinese leader Xi Jinping said at a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.

"This year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Over that period, our countries have embraced peaceful co-existence and mutually advantageous cooperation as two large neighbors, which not only brought tangible benefits to the two countries and their peoples but also played a constructive role in ensuring international justice," Xi said in opening remarks.

"You have spent years doing a major fruitful work of promoting the Russia-China relationship and versatile bilateral cooperation," the Chinese leader said, addressing Lavrov.

On April 8-9, Russia’s top diplomat is staying on an official visit in the Chinese capital. Earlier on Tuesday, he held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
