MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russian combat aircraft, missile and artillery troops obliterated four Ukrainian army command posts in the past day during the special military operation in Ukraine, Defense Ministry Spokesman Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov reported on Monday.
"Operational-tactical and army aviation aircraft, missile troops and artillery wiped out the Ukrainian army’s command posts in the areas of the settlements of Shevchenkovo in the Kharkov Region, Krasny Liman in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Kamyshevakha and Preobrazhenka in the Zaporozhye Region, and also 54 artillery units at firing positions, manpower and military hardware in 124 areas," the spokesman said.
Russian troops delivered fire by artillery guns and heavy flamethrowers, thwarting a Ukrainian army attack in the Lugansk People’s Republic in the Kupyansk area, eliminating over 35 militants, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Kupyansk direction, preemptive fire by artillery and heavy flamethrower systems against the areas of amassed Ukrainian manpower thwarted the enemy’s attempt to advance towards the settlement of Kuzyomovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic," the spokesman said.
During the combat, Russian troops destroyed over 35 Ukrainian soldiers, two armored vehicles and four pickup trucks, the general specified.
Russian troops repelled Ukrainian army attacks in the Krasny Liman area, eliminating about 20 militants in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the Krasny Liman direction, the enemy’s two company tactical groups attempted to attack in the areas of the settlements of Golikovo and Chervonopopovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. The enemy was scattered by artillery fire against the areas of amassed Ukrainian manpower," the spokesman said.
In the past day, the Ukrainian military lost over 20 troops, three infantry fighting vehicles and one armored vehicle in that area, the general specified.
Russian forces halted and pushed back the Ukrainian military in its attempt to counter-attack in the southern Donetsk area in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the southern Donetsk direction, Ukrainian army units unsuccessfully attempted to counter-attack to regain their positions in the areas of the settlements of Novomikhailovka, Vladimirovka and Pavlovka," the spokesman said.
The Ukrainian military also failed in its attempt to attack Russian troop positions in the area of Novodarovka, the general added.
"The Ukrainian army units were halted and pushed back to initial positions as a result of artillery strikes and operations by assault groups. The enemy lost over 70 Ukrainian servicemen killed and wounded in that area in the past day. One tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, five armored and five motor vehicles were destroyed," Konashenkov reported.
Russian forces eliminated a Ukrainian subversive/reconnaissance group in the Kherson Region in its attempt to move to the left bank of the Dnieper River in a boat, the general said.
"In the area of the settlement of Dneprovskoye in the Kherson Region, a subversive/reconnaissance group of the Ukrainian army was destroyed upon its attempt to move to the left bank of the Dnieper River in a boat. In addition, a Ukrainian armament and military hardware depot was destroyed near the community of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk People’s Republic," Konashenkov reported.
Russian troops obliterated two Uragan multiple launch rocket systems of the Ukrainian army that shelled the territory of Russia’s Belgorod Region, the spokesman said.
"In the counter-battery warfare, two Uragan multiple rocket launchers of the Ukrainian army that shelled the territory of the Belgorod Region were wiped out at their firing positions in the area of the settlement of Pylnaya in the Kharkov Region," the general said.
Russian air defense forces shot down five Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles and intercepted 11 Uragan and Olkha rockets in the past day, Konashenkov reported.
"In the past 24 hours, air defense capabilities shot down five unmanned aerial vehicles in the areas of the settlements of Kremennaya in the Lugansk People’s Republic, Pokrovskoye and Makeyevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Kakhovka in the Kherson Region," the spokesman said.
In the past day, Russian air defense systems also intercepted 11 Ukrainian Uragan and Olkha rockets near the communities of Strelechya in the Kharkov Region and Novotroitskoye in the Donetsk People’s Republic, the general added.
Russian troops have destroyed over 900 Ukrainian multiple launch rocket systems since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine, Konashenkov reported.
"In all, the following targets have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation in Ukraine: 333 aircraft, 177 helicopters, 2,543 unmanned aerial vehicles, 388 surface-to-air missile systems, 6,743 tanks and other combat armored vehicles, 901 multiple rocket launchers, 3,607 field artillery guns and mortars and 7,302 special military motor vehicles," the spokesman said.
