MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. The Kiev regime has explicitly admitted its criminal plans, speaking of preemptive strikes on Russia even before February 24 of this year, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a Channel One TV broadcast on Friday.

"But what is most surprising is that this very spokesman of [Ukrainian president Vladimir] Zelensky further aggravated the situation. That is, his explanation of it sounds like this: the desire to make a preemptive strike on our country was formalized before February of this year. This is exactly what we have always talked about, that a springboard for a strike on our country was being created," she said, commenting on Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky's call for NATO to carry out preventive strikes against Russia.

According to Zakharova, in order to downplay Zelensky's direct reference to preemptive strikes on Russia with the possible use of nuclear weapons, Kiev is even willing to confirm Moscow's February-March statements that the West wanted to "use Ukrainian territory and the Kiev regime to attack Russia." "To confirm that this was in fact the case," she added.

"If we talk about what happened yesterday, the Kiev regime has directly admitted the criminality of its intentions. But it was said on live television. You can't get away with it, you can't write it off <...> to mistranslation, interpreter's mistakes, technical difficulties. We heard it all live," the diplomat said.

"Whether he knew he was going to be broadcast, whether he didn't know, it doesn't matter anymore. It's his statement that was made," Zakharova noted.

The diplomat also added that the Russian Federation took very seriously that the West used such a person for its absolutely illegal and aggressive moves. "A person who is not aware of his statements, we are not even talking about actions. That's the problem. And this has been going on for a long time," she concluded.
