LUGANSK, October 17. /TASS/. The armed forces of Ukraine attacked power infrastructure in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), triggering emergency power outages in 23 municipalities, LPR head Leonid Pasechnik said.
"Members of Ukrainian armed groups attacked the republic’s energy infrastructure. As a result, power outages were reported in 23 municipalities, including the region’s administrative center," he wrote on the Max messenger.
In his words, social infrastructure sites have been connected to alternative power sources.
"At this point, the probability of another attack remains high. Power grid workers will organize repair works as soon as the opportunity arises. Some consumers will be switched to backup power lines," the official added.
"Social and medical facilities have been promptly connected to backup power sources," he added.
