MOSCOW, February 8. /TASS/. Firefighters have extinguished a fire in a public building in eastern Moscow, an emergency official told TASS.

"The fire has been put out," he said.

Five people were taken to the hospital after suffering injuries in the fire, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said. An emergency official told TASS that the fire could have been caused by faulty wiring or electrical grid overload.

The fire in the building of a former plant, which currently houses creative workshops and a dance studio, broke out on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters evacuated 90 people, while another 120 left the building on their own.
