Orenburg region government refutes information about complete destruction of Orsk dam

The flow at one of the two damages points on the dam was eliminated

ORENBURG, April 6. /TASS/. Information about the complete destruction of the dam in Orsk, Orenburg region, does not correspond to reality. The flow at one of the two damages points on the dam was eliminated, the press service of the regional government told TASS.

Earlier, operational services told TASS about the complete destruction of the dam in Orsk.

"The dam is not destroyed, nothing has changed (since the morning of April 6 - TASS). <...> The flow at one of the damage points was stopped," the regional government noted.

The partial collapse of a dam in Orsk, Orenburg region, occurred in two places on Saturday night. The dam protected the city from the waters of the Ural River. By Saturday morning, the water had reached several districts of the city, around 2,400 residential buildings and 3,000 adjacent areas in Orsk were flooded.
