TEHRAN, December 21. /TASS/. Russia hopes for an early lifting of the international sanctions against Iran, which would solve the problems with the financial support of transactions with the country, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said Monday.
The agreement on the Iranian nuclear program, the implementation of which should lead to the lifting of sanctions, was reached in July 2015, and the gradual lifting of sanctions could begin next year.
One of the most sensitive sanctions to the economy of Iran are those against Iranian banks, which have been cut off from the international payment system SWIFT.
"We are all interested in eventually lifting the economic sanctions against Iran," Manturov said at the opening of the exhibition "Trade and Industrial Dialogue: Russia-Iran", which takes place in the Iranian capital.
"This will significantly simplify the process of financial transactions, which is currently one of the main obstacles in further developing our cooperation in a number of areas," Manturov added.
