Northern Sea Route is Russia’s competitive advantage — minister

Modern but rather inexpensive infrastructure similar to the one the competitors have need to be created to remain competitive in the transportation market, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Ties of the Primorye Region Konstantin Sidorenko noted

VLADIVOSTOK, October 22. /TASS/. The Northern Sea Route is the competitive advantage of Russia and should remain such, Minister of International and Foreign Economic Ties of the Primorye Region Konstantin Sidorenko told TASS.

"The transport infrastructure must be integrated. For example, as in China - there is not simply a port there, it is connected to the Great Silk Road, several transport corridors are in place. It means we also should systemically build up the activities of providing for carriage to many destinations, by rail and by road, and including by air. Here, certainly, the Northern Sea Route, the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor, is our competitive advantage," the minister said.

Modern but rather inexpensive infrastructure similar to the one the competitors have need to be created to remain competitive in the transportation market, Sidorenko added.
