MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. Tertiary methods of enhanced oil recovery will increase the oil recovery rate from the current 30-35% to 45-50% and thereby extend the period of profitable field operation, Gazprom Neft CEO Alexander Dyukov said at a shareholders' meeting.
"They provide for incremental growth of the oil recovery rate to 15% [percentage points - TASS] in absolute terms, that is, they will increase the current recovery rate from 30-35% to 45-50% and thus extend the profitable operation of our fields," Dyukov said.
According to him, high-tech methods to increase oil recovery will provide up to 32% of Russia's total oil production by 2050. Gazprom Neft is implementing such methods in two areas, chemical and gas ones. Company's specialists developed surfactants together with partners, and a polymer flooding project with Russia-made reagents has been launched for a field in Western Siberia. The equipment for pumping polymers is being localized.
In the Arctic region, a project is being implemented to pump associated petroleum gas in a mixed displacement regime. "The implementation of this project will make it possible to produce additional 50 million tons of oil at one field alone," the chief executive added.
