MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Russian onshore and offshore drilling technologies in various conditions, including in the Arctic, may be better than foreign ones. Thus, Russia may reach technological leadership in the oil and gas sector, Anton Rubtsov of the Ministry of Energy's Oil and Gas Complex Department said.
The Ministry of Energy pays special attention to technologies for the oil and gas sector, which have a high potential for implementation, he continued. Those are technologies that are popular in Russia and that have the potential to enter the world stage.
"Thus, we can provide new generations with technology and technological leadership. The main and key potential here is onshore and offshore drilling technologies - robotic drilling complexes for operation in various conditions, including in the Arctic," he said. "We hope that they will be above similar foreign technologies. That would be a unique product that is not on the market now."
The ministry's representative pointed to new generations of catalysts and technologies for deep processing of raw materials in oil refining and petrochemistry.
"We can see also development of high-precision geological exploration systems using artificial intelligence and digital twins. These measures will lead to a significant increase in the global competitiveness of the Russian oil production and refining industries," he said in conclusion.
