Bank of Russia extends restrictions on non-residents’ money transfers abroad

The regulator said that the decision was made to maintain financial stability

MOSCOW, March 24. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia has extended restrictions on money transfers by non-residents from unfriendly countries abroad from accounts of brokers and trust managers for another six months, the regulator said.

"Bank of Russia extends restrictions for non-residents from unfriendly states to transfer money abroad from brokerage and trust management accounts. From April 1, 2025, these operations will be suspended for another six months," the regulator said, adding that the decision has been made to maintain financial stability.

The restrictions, which were introduced on April 1, 2022, are applicable to money transfers from individuals’ and legal entities’ accounts opened with Russian brokers and trust managers, the Central Bank noted.
