MC-21, SJ-100 to make maiden flights after import phaseout in H1 2025

Series production of MC-21 is planned to start in 2026, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said last year

MOSCOW, March 3. /TASS/. Russian passenger jets MC-21 with PD-14 engines and SJ-100 with PD-8 engines are expected to complete maiden flights in the first half of 2025, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov said.

"The first flights of airplanes with the complete import phaseout, the MC-21 with the PD-14 engine and the SJ-100 with the PD-8 engine, are planned during the first six months of the year. Certification flight tests will follow," the minister said.

Series production of MC-21 is planned to start in 2026, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov said last year.
