ASTANA, November 28. /TASS/. The Bank of Russia inflation data is absolutely true and easily verified, President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference.
"Firstly, everything the Central Bank names in the area of inflation is real, the y did not make up anything there. This is firstly. Secondly, it is easily verified. Real inflation is easily verified by independent centers that assess the state of the Russian economy and the credit and financial sector," Putin said.
According to the Russian leader, the Central Bank's assessment of the inflation growth rate is justified, but there are different opinions regarding the necessity of a high key rate.
"Everything the Central Bank says - how much do we have it now? 8.5 [percent]? - is true. Some experts believe that with inflation at 8.5%, having a key rate of 21% is too much, it is an overrate. But if you are saying that prices are rising, then we still need to think about whether this rate is too high or not," the President added.
