Vietnamese-Russian ties in fuel and energy sector contribute much to relations — official

Tran Hong Ha also expressed hope that, boasting experience and technological advantages, Zarubezhneft will join hands with Vietnamese partners and businesses to deploy new projects in the fuel and energy sector

HANOI, December 8. /TASS/. Cooperation in the fuel and energy sector between Vietnam and Russia contributes much to relations between the two countries, the republic’s Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha said at a meeting with CEO of Russian oil producer Zarubezhneft Sergey Kudryashov, the Vietnam News Agency reported.

Vietnam "has always attached importance to its traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership" with Russia, Deputy Prime Minister said. "Cooperation with the Vietnamese side of the Russian oil and gas company Zarubezhneft and its projects in the oil and gas sector and in the energy sector in Vietnam have made a positive contribution to the development of special relations of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Russia," he added.

The official also expressed hope that, boasting experience and technological advantages, Zarubezhneft will join hands with Vietnamese partners and businesses to deploy new projects in the fuel and energy sector to boost economic cooperation between the two countries, noting that he will direct ministries, agencies, and localities to remove difficulties and obstacles to facilitate projects between the Russian company and its Vietnamese partners.

In turn, Kudryashov said that Zarubezhneft plans to carry out new oil and gas, and energy projects in Vietnam.
