UAE focuses on cooperation in energy sphere with Russia — President

The UAE is the top investor and trade partner of Russia among Middle East countries, Vladimir Putin noted

ABU DHABI, December 6. /TASS/. The United Arab Emirates is paying particular attention to cooperating with Russian in the sphere of energy and advanced technologies, President of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said during talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"Priority areas of developing cooperation for us are such spheres as innovations, energy, infrastructure, and modern technologies," the UAE President said.

The UAE is the top investor and trade partner of Russia among Middle East countries, he stressed.

"The Emirates is the largest partner of Russia in the region of the Middle East and also the largest investor in its economy," the President noted, adding that UAE’s investments in the non-oil sector of the Russian economy surged by 103% over the last year.
