MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. Russia is interested in continuing the work in the OPEC+ format, including after Brazil joins the partnership, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Russia will be interested in continuing its work in this format, what it is doing in fact," he told reporters when commenting on the results of the OPEC+ ministerial meeting.
That said, speaking about the fact that Brazil will join OPEC+ from January 1, 2024, Peskov stressed that "the organization continues the work" and contributes "to stabilization of energy markets, to maintaining, to creating conditions for maintaining prices for main energy resources at a balanced level." "This is very important for all," he noted.
Brazil will join the cooperation charter of the OPEC+ oil alliance, becoming its 24th member state starting January 2024. According to the national regulator, Brazil’s crude output currently exceeds 3 mln barrels per day, making it a major oil-producing country.
