MOSCOW, October 22. /TASS/. Russia’s gas giant Gazprom has ideas about new gas pipelines, in particular to China, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said on Sunday.
"I can say that we have new ideas for new gas transportation routes, in particular to China’s market. So, I can say that those gas pipeline that will be built will be more advanced in terms of technological solutions than the ones built by Gazprom in recent time," he said in an interview with the Moscow.Kremlin.Putin program on the Rossiya-1 television channel.
Russia exported 15.5 billion cubic meters of gas to China via the Sila Sibiri pipeline in 2022. In 2023, the figure is expected to reach 22 billion cubic meters. The pipeline is expected to reach its design capacity of 38 billion cubic meters in 2025.
Meanwhile, Gazprom plans to increase its gas exports to China to 48 billion cubic meters in the near future after it implements the project for gas supplies to China along the Far Eastern route and to nearly 100 billion cubic meters a year taking into account the gas pipeline across Mongolia, Miller said earlier.
