Kherson Region ready to supply food to Russia, official assures

On Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and the heads of the four regions signed treaties on their accession to Russia. Both houses of Russia’s parliament later ratified those treaties as well as federal constitutional laws on admitting the regions to Russia

KHERSON, October 5. /TASS/. The Kherson Region is rich in fruitful lands and is ready to supply produce grown there to Russian regions, Kirill Stremousov, deputy head of the region’s military-civilian administration, told TASS on Wednesday.

"We are Russia’s agrarian sector, as there are very many fruitful lands in the Kherson Region. We are ready to feed all Russian regions, that’s why we will help other regions here as much as we can," the official pledged in an interview.

Asked if Russian regions would continue to supervise the Kherson Region, Stremousov said his region was "ready to accept any assistance from any Russian region or any person as fraternal and friendly."

From September 23 to September 27, the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) and the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR) as well as the Kherson Region and the Zaporozhye Region held referendums where the majority of voters opted to join Russia.
