Russia will not prevent foreign companies from returning to its market — Putin

At the same time, the Russian president noted that the companies "need to realize that we need to treat each other with respect"

ST. PETERSBURG, June 17. /TASS/. President Vladimir Putin predicts that many European companies will return to the Russian market. The head of state assured that the country's authorities would not hamper their return.

"I have no doubt: time will pass, many of our partners, at least from European countries, will return to the Russian market and will be happy to work here. I have no doubts about this. Life will make them just do it," Putin said on Friday responding to questions at the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

"And we will not prevent them from doing this, we are open to the whole world," Putin stressed.

"But they need to realize that we need to treat each other with respect," the Russian leader warned.

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum organized by the Roscongress Foundation is running from June 15 to 18. This year’s forum is dubbed: ‘New Opportunities in a New World’. The SME Forum, the Creative Business Forum, the Drug Security Forum, the SPIEF Junior Dialogue and SPIEF Sport Week are also going to be part of the SPIEF event.
