Russia cannot be isolated from world economy — PM Mishustin

Mikhail Mishustin noted that Russia was no stranger to working under sanctions, they would not prevent the country from strengthening constructive interaction with its friends and partners

MOSCOW, May 20. /TASS/. Western countries want to isolate Russia from the global economy, but this will not work, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Friday.

"The West is trying to isolate us from the world economy, but it won’t succeed. We will adapt to new realities and ensure the progressive economic development," he stressed.

Mishustin noted that Russia is no stranger to working under sanctions, they will not prevent the country from strengthening constructive interaction with its friends and partners. "We value trustworthy, frank relations with the Commonwealth countries and strictly fulfill agreements, respect each other's interests," he said.

According to the Prime Minister, this is a good base for reaching new ambitious goals for the benefit of the states and peoples of the CIS.
