Putin signs law on GHG emissions limitation experiment

The goal of the experiment is to reach net zero in the Russian region

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on an experiment to limit greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the Sakhalin Region. The document was posted on the official web portal of legal information.

The goal of the experiment is to reach net zero in the Russian region. The experiment will last until December 31, 2028 but the Sakhalin Region is anticipated to achieve its goal by the end of 2025. The experiment can also be held in Russian regions that will be included into it by amendments into the law, the explanatory note to the document says.
