MOSCOW, February 14. /TASS/. The State Duma on Tuesday adopted a draft appeal from the Russian Federal Assembly to the world’s parliaments in connection with US military biological activity outside its territory.
The document had been submitted by State Duma Deputy Speaker Irina Yarovaya and State Duma International Affairs Committee. Federation Council Deputy Speaker Konstantin Kosachev said the upper house of the parliament plans to consider the draft appeal at a plenary session on Wednesday, February 15.
"The Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation calls on the parliaments of the countries of the world that host US-controlled biological laboratories to give a legal and political assessment of the agreements that their national health services conclude with the US Department of Defense. These agreements are deliberately discriminatory in nature and are intended to hide from citizens the danger of the research that’s being conducted. That’s proved by restrictions or even complete prohibition of access to biological laboratories and to the work carried out in them, even for national security services," the draft appeal says.
The Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation would also call on the parliaments of the world to request information from national governments on the presence and nature of the activities of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency of the US Department of Defense, damaging their national sovereignty. "This will reveal the true content of the medical and biological projects implemented by the United States and prevent their covert military-biological threats and catastrophic consequences for the life and health of people," the draft says.
The document would be sent to the UN, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the European Parliament, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The proposal to appeal to the parliaments of the countries of the world was voiced by State Duma Deputy Speaker Irina Yarovaya during the discussion of a DTRA report at a meeting of the commission to investigate the activities of biological laboratories in Ukraine last week. According to the lawmaker, the analysis of the report confirms that the Pentagon "purposefully and systematically created a global bioprospecting system."
