Over 18,000 people evacuated from dangerous zones of Ukraine, DPR and LPR in past day

Overall, a total of 658,146 people were evacuated since the start of the special operation

MOSCOW, April 7. /TASS/. More than 18,000 people were evacuated to Russia from dangerous areas of Ukraine and the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk (DPR and LPR) in the past day, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, the chief of Russia’s National Defense Management Center, said on Thursday.

"Despite all difficulties and obstacles created by Kiev, a total of 18,131 people, including 2,812 children, were evacuated to Russia from dangerous areas of Ukraine and from the people’s republics of Donetsk and Lugansk," he said.

"Overall, a total of 658,146 people, including 128,350 children, were evacuated since the start of the special operation," the Russian defense official added.
