Nationalists frustrate second attempt at evacuating people from Mariupol

According to the headquarters, the Ukrainian side failed to implement its commitments

MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. The second attempt at evacuating civilians from Mariupol has failed due to disinformation spread by the Kiev regime that the ceasefire has been postponed, the humanitarian response coordination headquarters under Russia’s National Defense Management Center said on Sunday.

"As part of the humanitarian operation Russia made another attempt today to evacuate civilians from Mariupol, with the routes, time and the meeting place for the humanitarian convoy being agreed with the Ukrainian side. Russia implemented all the conditions for the establishment of a humanitarian corridor," it said.

According to the headquarters, the Ukrainian side failed to implement its commitments. "Moreover, Ukraine’s authorities used internet resources and television to misinform Mariupol residents about the postponement of the evacuation due to the Russian side’s alleged failure to observe the ceasefire. It is an total lie and betrayal of own people," it stressed.

According to monitoring data, including with the use of drones, no humanitarian convoys were formed inn Mariupol, the headquarters said.

"Notably, Ukrainian troops opened fire at the positions of Russian forces at the time that was agreed for a humanitarian corridor. These provocations make it clear that Kiev authorities are deliberately evading implementation of the agreements and continue their criminal actions using civilians as a human shield," it stressed.
