LUGANSK, September 13. /ITAR-TASS/. All trucks carrying the Russian humanitarian aid arrived in Lugansk, ITAR-TASS reported from the site on Saturday.
The trucks with sugar, cereals, warm clothes and medicines are being unloaded now.
As the convoy entered Lugansk on Saturday morning, people welcomed heartily the trucks, waved hands; many of them could not resist tears.
The city remains cut off electricity, water or communication. Telephone communication is available at only one location in the city. Thus, there are crowds of people there all the time.
No incidents happened on the way to Lugansk. The local militia escorted the convoy.
Earlier on Saturday, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Stepanov said the total weight of the humanitarian aid sent to Ukraine’s south-east is almost two thousand tonnes. Russia’s first humanitarian convoy, which delivered almost two thousand tonnes of food, water, children’s nutrition and medical goods, arrived in Lugansk on August 22.
