Russian servicemen provide assistance to nearly 3,600 Syrians in past 24 hours

An Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft operated by the Russian Aerospace Forces has delivered 17.9 tonnes of relief goods sent by Armenia to the Hmeymim airbase

HMEYMIM /Syria/, February 19. /TASS/. The Russian military has held three humanitarian operations over the past 24 hours, with nearly 3,600 Syrians receiving aid, the Russian Center for Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria reported on Sunday.

"The Russian Center for reconciliation of the warring parties has held three humanitarian operations in the cities of Latakia and Homs and in the inhabited locality of Haush Sultan in the Damascus province," the center said in its daily bulletin. "Over the past 24 hours, 6.6 tonnes of food have been delivered to the city of Latakia, while 550 food packages have been handed over to residents of the Haush Sultan populated locality."

"A total of 3,590 residents have received humanitarian aid over the past 24 hours. The total weight of relief consignments handed over to the population amounted to 8.8 tonnes."

An Ilyushin Il-76 aircraft operated by the Russian Aerospace Forces has delivered 17.9 tonnes of relief goods (foodstuffs, clothing and rug blankets) sent by Armenia to the Hmeymim airbase.

According to the center’s bulletin, "over the past 24 hours, the UN and partners continued to provide food, medical, psychological and legal aid to Syria." Besides, work is in progress to restore infrastructure and provide temporary housing to those in need.
