Return of Syrian refugees in focus of Putin’s telephone conversation with King of Jordan

MOSCOW, August 21. /TASS/. Various aspects of settlement efforts in Syria, including the return of Syrian refugees, were in focus of a telephone conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and King Abdullah II of Jordan, the Kremlin press service said on Tuesday.

"The sides discussed various aspects of the settlement of the Syrian crisis. In this context, they noted efficient cooperation between the corresponding ministries and agencies of the two countries. Special attention was focused on efforts to ensure the return of Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons," the press service said.

Apart from that, the leaders exchanged congratulations on the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the friendly and constructive character of the Russian-Jordanian cooperation, the Kremlin noted.

The Russian leader congratulated King Abdullah II and the entire Jordanian nation on the Eid al-Adha Islamic holiday, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
