There were a total of 16 people on board the aircraft, according to reports. First responders recovered the bodies of seven crash victims. There has been no information yet about eight more passengers who were on board the plane.

The pilots could have survived, according to Press TV channel. IRNA News Agency reported that, according to preliminary information, all the people on board the plane were killed in the crash.

The plane was en route from Bishkek to Payam Airport in the town of Karaj (40 km away from Tehran). However, according to the agency, the pilots mistakenly started the landing at another airport in Karaj and did not manage to land the aircraft within the runway. The Boeing 707 crashed into a wall at the airport and entered a residential area near the airport.
