BEIJING, March 22. /TASS/. Chinese Vice Premier Wang Yang will pay an official visit to Russia on March 28-31, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Hua Chunying, told a press briefing on Wednesday.
"Vice Premier Wang Yang will pay an official visit to Russia from March 28 to March 31 at the invitation of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin," she said.
"He will take part in the IV International Arctic Forum ["The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue" - TASS]. In addition to that, a meeting with Rogozin as co-chairman of the Russian-Chinese Commission for the Preparation of Regular Heads of Government Meetings will be held," the spokesperson added.
"The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue" forum is one of the key platforms for discussing the problems and prospects of the Arctic region. It is aimed at pooling the world community’s efforts for the effective development of the Arctic region. Participants in the forum that has been held since 2010 discuss improvement of living standards in the Arctic territories, the development of the transport system and environmental issues.
The IV International Arctic Forum will be held in Arkhangelsk, a city in the north of European Russia, on March 29-30. About 1,500 people from Russia and other countries are expected to take part in it. The TASS news agency is the forum’s general information partner.
