NEW DELHI, August 6. /TASS/. Construction cost of the second stage of Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant comprising the third and the fourth power units will total $6.6 bln, India’s Minister of State for Development of North-Eastern Region, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space Jitendra Singh said on Thursday during the parliament hearings.
TASS reported earlier a source close to the Nuclear Power Corporation of India said construction cost of the first stage of Kudankulam nuclear power plant was about $2.8 bln.
The first power unit of Kudankulam nuclear power plant has already been commissioned and construction of the second one has also been completed. The third and the fourth power units are to be built in 2016-2021.
