Russia’s aid convoy for Donbass residents arrives in Donetsk and Lugansk

An aid convoy organized by the Russian Emergencies Ministry has arrived in Donbass

MOSCOW, March 29. /TASS/. An aid convoy organized by the Russian Emergencies Ministry has arrived in Donbass, the ministry’s press service told TASS.

"The convoy delivered more than 400 tonnes of humanitarian supplies to Donbass residents. This humanitarian cargo contains food packages, educational literature and basic necessities," the ministry’s press service said.

The 75th convoy set off from the Don Rescue Center in the village of Kovalevka, Rostov Region, at 04:00 Moscow time. The cars traveled through the Donetsk and Matveyev Kurgan checkpoints, where they passed all necessary customs procedures in accordance with international laws on humanitarian cargo deliveries. The cars are operated by experienced rescue drivers who conducted dozens of humanitarian operations across the globe, including multiple deliveries of humanitarian supplies to Donbass.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry has been sending humanitarian supplies to Donbass residents since August 2014. A total of 74 car convoys carrying 73,000 tonnes of humanitarian supplies have been sent there.
