Iranian diplomat says no restrictions hamper cooperation between Tehran, Moscow

"As for purchasing civil aircraft from Russia, the two countries have discussed this topic, it is still under consideration," Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said

TEHRAN, March 6. /TASS/. There are no restrictions that could hamper cooperation between Tehran and Moscow, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi said on Monday.

When asked a question concerning the possibility of Iran purchasing Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet-100 aircraft, Ghasemi said that "our cooperation with Russia is not restricted in any sphere." "We have been holding talks on cooperation in a number of fields while in some areas talks have already been concluded and now we are considering technical aspects. As for purchasing civil aircraft from Russia, the two countries have discussed this topic, it is still under consideration. In due time, more detailed information about these consultations will be made public," the Iranian diplomat added.

On February 21, Russia’s Energy Minister Alexander Novak told reporters following his visit to Iran that Tehran had confirmed its plans to purchase 12 Sukhoi Superjet-100 aircraft in the near future.
